Proposal and Master's thesis students will be considered after all ABD students' applications have been reviewed. Boot Camp registration typically opens on the Monday two weeks before that month's camp.
An announcement is also sent out to all CGU students.
Dissertation boot camp is a two-week program designed to help advanced doctoral students meet goals and deadlines towards completing the dissertation.
Frequency and Structure We typically hold two boot camps each year - one over winter break and another during the summer.
Students in the dissertation proposal stage and students working on Master's theses can apply, but preference will be given to ABD students. The second weekend of the month, Saturday and Sunday from am - pm. The Center for Writing & Rhetoric, 141 East 12th Street. Current CGU students who are ABD are eligible to attend the weekend boot camps.
Space is limited and application review is generally first-come, first served — but we do consider other factors to ensure that as many students as possible can participate.
In addition, we become a community of writers committed to completing our dissertations on schedule, supporting and cheering each other on, and sharing strategies and experiences to help each other navigate the dissertation process with our sanity intact!
Dissertation Boot Camps are open to students who are ABD (have been advanced to candidacy).
Once you have received the announcement, complete the form here to apply for a space. We normally notify all applicants of their status via email on the Monday prior to the weekend camp.
If we are unable to accept you, we can place you on a waiting list, and will notify you of any spaces that become available by the Thursday before camp.
